A con date turns a build into a schedule. Plan back from the con lays down a starter plan dated back from it, and the calendar and reminders keep you to it.

Before you start

  • A build with a con date: Target date (optional) when you made it, or Con date under Edit details (see part 1).

Lay down the plan

  1. Press Plan back from the con

Under the task list (headed working back from …), press Plan back from the con.
  2. Read what it added

Ten steps, from Gather references and list the pieces twelve weeks out, through mock-up, main build, foam, paint, wig and makeup test and a full wear test, to Pack β€” repair kit included the day before.

Check it worked

Ten dated tasks, each marked as moving with the con date (hover for Moves with the con date). The button is gone; it only shows until the build has a plan.

Make it yours

  1. Add your own

Type into + Add a task, give it a due date if it has one, and press Add.
  2. Edit or remove

✎ edits a task's name and date; βœ• removes it. A date you set by hand stays put when the con date moves.
  3. Reorder

↑ and ↓ appear between tasks due the same day.
  4. Tick them off

Tick a task when it's done. The first unticked one is your next task.

Your calendar and reminders

While the build is Planning or In progress, the con day and every open task with a date appear on your calendar. You get a notification the day before a task is due (A build task is due tomorrow) and a Con countdown 30, 7 and 1 days before the con. Both can be turned off under Builds & cons in your notification settings.

On My Builds, the this week strip names your next task and how many days until the con.

If something's off

β€œGive the build a con date in Edit details…”
The plan needs a date to count back from. Add one under Edit details.
Several steps are due today
Steps whose lead time has already passed are set to today, and they don't move with the con date. Re-date them by hand with ✎.
A task says late
Its date has passed and it isn't ticked. Tick it or give it a new date.
A task says after the con
It's due after the con date β€” fine for repairs, otherwise move it earlier.
No reminders or calendar entries
They only come for builds in Planning or In progress; ideas, finished builds and builds on hold are left out.
