Before you start
- Your MyAnimeList export: on MyAnimeList, use Export under your list settings. It gives a
.xmlor.xml.gzfile β one for anime, one for manga. - Or practise with the sample below.
Sample file: a small MyAnimeList anime export to practise with (XML)Made by Waypoint Realms for this tutorial; free to use.

Export your library
Under Export your list: Anime list (MAL XML) and Manga list (MAL XML) import into MyAnimeList, other trackers, or back here unchanged; Everything (CSV) is a spreadsheet of the whole library.
If something's off
- βThat isn't a MyAnimeList export file.β
- Use the file MyAnimeList's Export gives you, not a saved web page.
- βThat file is over 12 MBβ¦β
- MAL exports are far smaller β check it's the right file.
- βThe import stopped part-wayβ¦β
- Import the same file again; it picks up where it left off.
- Import is greyed out: βNothing to change.β
- Everything in the file is already in your library as far along or further.
Next: share your list.
