Find your way around the campaign table
The table view of a campaign: the seats, the stage in the middle, the tabs on the right, your dock, voice and whispers — and how to switch to the classic page.
- ~8 min
- New to it
- Part 3 of 10
A campaign opens as a virtual table: everyone in a seat, the play surface in the middle, the campaign's records on the right and your own controls in a dock at the bottom. This part is a tour; the next ones use it.
Before you start
- A seat in a campaign (part 2).
The tour
The top bar
From the left: Leave table, the campaign's name and system, the stage switch (Map, Scene, Story), the session chip — the session's clock when the table is lit, The table is dark · next … when it isn't — voice, the ambience chip, and the gear (Table settings). The GM also has GM screen. The seats
Everyone has a chair, marked At the table or Away, with their character, its HP and the latest roll. An AI-run campaign seats the Game Master at the head of the table. The stage
The middle of the table. Between sessions it shows Next session (or The table is dark), Last time and the Set the table checklist. During play it shows the scene, the story so far, the battle map, the turn order and any handout the GM reveals. The tabs on the right
Talk is the table's chat (and where you play with an AI GM). Journal holds the Log; Lore the campaign wiki; NPCs the campaign's people; Plan availability and the campaign's Games; XP the party's experience. A count on Talk means unread messages.Your dock
Along the bottom: your character and HP, Dice (a tray that reads your sheet's modifiers), voice, Reactions (Cheer, Gasp, Ha, Oof) and Whisper. Without a character it says No character linked yet. and lets you pick one.On a phone
The table splits into three views — Table, Talk and Records — switched along the top.
Talk to the table
Chat
Open Talk. Between sessions chat is quiet unless the GM allows it; it opens when the GM lights the table.Voice
Press Join voice. Mute/Unmute and Leave voice sit beside it, and a count of who's in voice opens the list of who's on.Whisper
Press Whisper in your dock and choose someone. A whisper is a direct message, so it only works between friends (and never between an adult and someone under 18), and it stays in your inbox after the session.

The classic page
Prefer the original stacked campaign page? Open Table settings and press Classic view under How you see the table; on the classic page, Table view switches back. To set your default for every campaign, go to Profile → Appearance → Campaign pages and choose The Table or Classic. Leave table opens the classic page for this visit only, with Back to the table at the top.
Same campaign, two layouts
If something's off
- “Table talk is quiet between sessions…”
- Chat is paused until the GM starts a session, unless Allow chat while not in session is on in settings.
- Whisper says there's nobody to whisper to
- Whispers need someone else at the table, and they only reach friends — connect with them first. They never go between an adult and someone under 18.
- “This table has used its voice minutes for the month.”
- Voice time comes from the GM's plan and resets on the 1st (UTC). Chat still works.
