Features & plans

Every feature in Waypoint Realms, what it does, and which membership it needs. A free account gets you further than you might expect.

The subscriptions

Waypoint has three separate things you can pay for. They are not a single ladder: a membership does not include the other two, and neither of the other two requires a membership.

Membership — for players and makers

Apprentice

Free

Adept

Archmage

The Bindery Pass

Coming soon

All-you-can-read access to subscription comics from participating publishers.

It is its own subscription, and deliberately so. What readers actually read decides how the creator royalty pool is divided, and revenue bundled into a membership tier cannot be attributed back to the creators who earned it. No membership includes it; it does not require one.

Pricing is not set yet and will be published here when it is.

Waypoint Hub

For venues & stores

The partner track, for businesses that host play — listings, bookings, analytics and a storefront. Billed separately from a membership, and never unlocked by one.

  • Venue $30/mo
  • Store $50/mo

Every feature in detail

The complete catalog — everything Waypoint does, whether it costs anything or not. Each entry says what it needs: Every account means it is free at every tier. The Realms themselves are members-only, because what you make in them is yours, so they sit behind a sign-in.

Community

17 features · 6 need a membership

Finding people to play with, and the places you play.

  • Find and join games

Search for games by system, format, date and distance, then reserve a seat. A free account can hold a few reservations a month, which covers a regular game night; a membership lifts the cap entirely.

Apprentice: 3 · Adept: Unlimited · Archmage: Unlimited

    Every account, with a cap
  • Advanced search filters

The full filter set on top of the basic search: system and edition, beginner-friendly tables, accessibility provisions, safety tools in use, price, and whether a seat is held for newcomers.

    Adept and up
  • Saved searches

Save any search you run — "Pathfinder within 10 miles, weeknights" — and Waypoint watches it for you, so a table that appears on a Tuesday does not depend on you looking that Tuesday.

    Adept and up
  • Priority RSVP

When more people want a seat than there are seats, priority RSVPs are confirmed ahead of the general queue. It does not create seats, and a host can always run their own list.

    Archmage and up
  • Create a guild

A guild is a persistent group: a member roster, discussion threads, its own events and a scoreboard. Joining a guild is free for everyone — this is the entitlement to found and run one.

    Archmage and up
  • Run tournaments

Tournament structure for a guild: seeding, rounds, reported results and live standings. Built for league nights and small competitive events rather than for large organised play.

    Archmage and up
  • Group channels

Direct messages and group threads for a table, a guild, or a one-off session. Free on every tier — coordinating a game should never be the thing you have to pay for.

    Every account
  • Your calendar

One calendar across everything you have said yes to — sessions, guild events, convention tickets and venue bookings — with reminders before each. Subscribe to it from your own calendar app if you would rather live there.

    Every account
  • Events

Anything larger than a single table: conventions, tournaments, launch nights and club meets, with ticketing where the organiser has set it up. Browsing and attending are free.

    Every account
  • Venues

A directory of places that welcome gaming — game shops, clubs, libraries and rentable rooms — with what they host, when they are open, and whether a table can be booked. Venues are listed by their owners through Waypoint Hub.

    Every account
  • Book a GM

Browse game masters who run paid games, see what systems they run and what past players said, and book a session for your group. Free to browse and to book; the GM sets their own rate.

    Every account
  • Requests

The other direction from searching: say what you want — a system, a schedule, a group that will teach a newcomer — and let hosts and other players answer.

    Every account
  • Guilds

Joining and taking part in a guild costs nothing at any tier: threads, the roster, guild events and the scoreboard are all open to members of that guild. Founding one is the part that needs a membership.

    Every account
  • Feeds

A running feed of posts, session write-ups and activity from the people, guilds and topics you follow, with your own posts alongside them.

    Every account
  • Members directory

Search the people on Waypoint the way you search for games — by what they play, where they are, and how they like to play — and connect with them.

    Every account
  • Messages

One-to-one messaging alongside the group channels, with read state and notifications. Free at every tier, because arranging a game should never be behind a paywall.

    Every account
  • Saved items

A single place for everything you have set aside, whatever kind of thing it is, so a venue you liked and a listing you are considering do not live in two different lists.

    Every account

TTRPG Realm

13 features · 3 need a membership

Running and playing tabletop roleplaying games.

  • Campaigns

The campaign page holds everything one ongoing game needs: a shared wiki that fills itself in from your session notes, a tactical battle map with fog of war, initiative and turn tracking, a recap of every session, and an AI Game Master that can run or assist a table. Being a *player* in someone else's campaign is free; this entitlement is for keeping one of your own.

    Adept and up
  • Active campaigns

The cap counts campaigns you own and are actively running. Archiving one frees the slot, and campaigns you have merely joined as a player never count against it.

    Apprentice: — · Adept: 2 · Archmage: Unlimited

    Paid tiers
  • Character slots

The Character Vault itself is free — building, importing and generating characters costs nothing. The cap is on how many you keep at once, across every game system you play.

  • Character Vault

Build and store your TTRPG characters — full D&D 5e sheets, with AI portraits and more systems to come.

Board Games Realm

5 features · 3 need a membership

Deciding what to play, and keeping track of what you own.

  • Teach time

Table Oracle already uses teach time to fit games into the evening you actually have; this shows you the working. Who at the table knows the game well enough to teach it, how long that will take, and what the evening really costs once you count it.

    Adept and up
  • Shelf gaps

Computed in the same pass as the shortlist: the games your group's tastes point at that none of you has on a shelf. Useful before a birthday, a convention, or a sale.

    Adept and up
  • Saved groups

Save the people you game with as a group so a consult takes one click instead of re-entering everyone. A free account keeps a couple, and an unsaved ad-hoc consult with anyone is never limited.

Cosplay Realm

14 features · 4 need a membership

Designing, costing and building a costume, then showing it off.

  • Live bill of materials

A costed breakdown of what a piece will actually take, computed from the mesh's own volume and surface area against current material prices — per layer, so a foam base with a Worbla plate and printed trim each price separately. It sends straight to your build's component list as costed line items.

    Adept and up
  • Pattern drafting

Bodice, body and trouser blocks drafted parametrically to your measurement profile, with seam allowance, then tiled across as many sheets of ordinary printer paper as it takes so you can assemble and trace at true scale. Drafting runs in your browser; your measurements are not sent anywhere.

    Adept and up
  • Costume assembly

Stand several finished pieces on one mannequin built from your measurements and check the clearance between them before you cut anything — the pauldron that fouls the helmet is much cheaper to find here. Assembling and checking is free; keeping the assembly is what this unlocks.

    Adept and up
  • Sell your designs

Put a design on the shelf for other cosplayers, either free or priced with payouts to your own Stripe account. The shop snapshots the design as it is at publish time, so you can keep sculpting your copy without changing what buyers received. Buying is never gated.

    Adept and up
  • Your design library

Designs you model in Piece Forge are saved to your account, reopen fully editable, and re-export whenever you need them. Free on every tier: the whole build loop — measure, model, fit, unfold, export and keep — is the reason to be here, not the thing to charge for.

Comics Realm

6 features · 1 needs a membership

Following what you read, and making comics of your own.

  • The Bindery Pass

A separate subscription, not part of any membership: unlimited reading across the publishers who join the programme. What readers actually read decides how the creator royalty pool is divided, which is precisely why it cannot be folded into a membership tier — bundled revenue cannot be attributed back to the creators who earned it.

  • The Codex

Your account

7 features · 4 need a membership

Your profile, your handle, and how Waypoint looks to you.

  • Change your username

Change the @handle your profile lives at, keeping your history, guilds and connections. Old handles are held for a while rather than released immediately, so links do not break the moment you change.

    Adept and up
  • Profile customization

The fuller public profile: a banner image, pronouns, languages you play in, preferred role and play style, and links out to wherever else you are. Every field is individually toggleable between public and private.

    Adept and up
  • Profile viewers

A list of members who recently viewed your profile. Viewers can opt out of appearing, and you can turn your own visibility off — it is symmetric by design.

    Archmage and up
  • Premium skins

Waypoint ships two skins for everyone; a membership opens the rest, including per-Realm ambiances and the alternate character-sheet materials. Purely cosmetic — no skin changes what you can do.

    Adept and up
  • Your public profile

Every account gets a public profile: the systems you play, the guilds you belong to, sessions you have run or attended, and reviews. Each section is individually switchable between public and private.

    Every account
  • Privacy controls

Per-section visibility over everything your profile can show, plus control over whether you appear in search, whether your activity is visible, and who can message you. Free at every tier — privacy is not a paid feature.

    Every account
  • Appearance

Theme, text size, high contrast and reduced motion, plus the two base Realm skins everyone gets. Accessibility settings are never gated.

    Every account

This page tracks the product: it is generated from the same entitlement rules the app enforces, so what you read here is what your account will actually do. Features are added over time, and prices will be revisited as the picture fills in — anything already paid for keeps its terms.
