Set the table: players, characters, premise and a first session
Work through the campaign's Set the table checklist: add your players by username, get everyone a character, give the story its premise, and put the first session on the calendar.
- ~10 min
- New to it
- Part 2 of 10
- Up to 1 AI credit
A new campaign shows a Set the table checklist in the middle of the table until the four things a first session needs are in place. Each item ticks itself when it's done, and the count beside it says how many of the four are done.
Before you start
- A campaign you run (part 1).
- Your players' Waypoint usernames. Players need an account; it can be Free.
- For Session Zero on an AI-run campaign, 1 AI credit from whoever runs it.
1 Β· Pull up a chair (add players)
Open the add form
At the table, press the empty seat marked Pull up a chair. (On the classic page, press + beside Party.)Add someone by username
Type their name in Add member by @username, choose Player or Co-GM, and press Add. They appear at the table straight away, and the campaign's chat opens up to them.

2 Β· Bring your characters
Each player links one of their Character Vault characters to the campaign themselves: in their dock (No character linked yet.) or under Who you're playing in Table settings. Send them play your character if they're new to it. The checklist counts how many are linked until it reads Everyone has a character.
3 Β· Give it a premise
AI-run campaigns: run Session Zero
Open GM screen, go to Setup and press β¨ Session Zero. Describe the campaign in a sentence or two under Premise and press Generate. The AI drafts an Opening scene, NPCs, Locations and Open threads and seeds them into the Game Master's memory (1 AI credit). Press Done to keep them, or Regenerate for another draft.Human-run campaigns: the description
The premise is the campaign's description, written when you created it. It ticks as soon as the campaign has one.

Removing players
If something's off
- βNo member @β¦β
- Check the spelling of their username; it's the one on their profile, without spaces.
- βMembership is locked. Unlock it in Campaign Settings to add members.β
- Turn off Lock membership under Access & permissions in settings, add them, and lock it again if you like.
- βThey're already in this campaign.β
- They're seated already; look for them at the table or in the party list.
- The premise item won't tick on a human-run campaign
- It ticks from the campaign description, which can't be added after the campaign is created. It doesn't stop you playing β the checklist is a guide, and Look at the table anyway on the placard takes you past it.
