Plan a group cosplay

Start a group for a con, invite friends by @username, share a task list and reference board, see everyone's progress, and share measurements so one person can draft everyone's patterns.

A group is for cosplaying together at a con. Each of you keeps your own build; the group shares a task list, a reference board and the date.

Before you start

  • Your friends' @usernames.
  • To share measurements: you're 18 or over, and you have a measurement profile in the Measuring Room.

Start the group

  1. Open the form

At the foot of My Builds, under group cosplays, press Start a group.
  2. Fill it in

Group name (such as Akatsuki at Dragon Con), Series, Con, Con date, Your character and Your build (or None yet).
  3. Put it on a Circle (optional)

If you belong to a Circle, On a Circle (optional) links the group to it. This can only be set now, when you start the group.
  4. Start it

Press Start the group. You're its lead.

Invite people

  1. Invite by @username

On the group's page, type their @username and press Invite.
  2. Wait for them to accept

Nobody is added without saying yes. They see you're invited, choose Your character and Your build, and press Accept (or Decline). Until then they show as Invited, not answered yet, and βœ• withdraws the invitation.

Check it worked

Under the group, each member shows as … their character and how far along their build is β€” pieces and tasks done. A private build's title stays hidden.

Work together

  1. Shared tasks

Under shared tasks, type into + Add a shared task β€” a group shoot, matching fabric β€” give it a date and, under Who's on it, a member or Anyone, then press Add.
  2. Shared references

Paste links into the reference board for everyone to see.

Share measurements with whoever sews

  1. Choose your profile

Under Your measurements, pick a profile and press Share with the group.
  2. Whoever sews drafts for everyone

The group's active members can then draft patterns from those numbers in Pattern Forge, including any you update later.

Check it worked

It reads You're sharing … with the group. The roster shows measurements shared beside your name β€” never the numbers. Stop sharing ends it; leaving the group does too.

18 and over

Sharing measurements is for members 18 and over, and invitations can't cross between adults and members under 18.

Leave or end a group

Leave this group takes you out; your build stays yours. The lead can remove a member and, with End this group, delete the group with its tasks and board β€” everyone's builds stay theirs.

If something's off

β€œNo member has that username.”
Check the spelling β€” it's their @username, not their display name.
β€œYou can't invite this member.”
They've blocked you or you them, or one of you is under 18 and the other isn't.
β€œThey're already invited, or already in the group.”
They're on the roster already, answered or not.
β€œTake your measurements first.”
You have no profile to share yet. Measure in the Measuring Room, then come back.
