Add art, share and export your character

Give a character a picture, share a read-only link with your table, print it as a PDF, or download its data.

Everything in this part happens on the character's own sheet — open it from the vault. Only you see the controls for your characters; anyone you share with sees the sheet read-only.

Before you start

  • A character in your vault (parts 1–3).
  • An image of your own (PNG, JPEG, WebP or GIF, up to 4 MB), or 5 AI credits to generate one; see AI credits.

Give it a picture

  1. Find Character image

    On the sheet, under Character image, is the full-body picture and the portrait cropped from it.

  2. Upload or generate

    Press Upload image to use your own art (Change image once there is one), or Generate with AI for a full-body render built from the sheet — appearance, gear and powers — for 5 AI credits.

Check it worked

The picture shows above the sheet, and the square portrait appears on the sheet, on its card in your vault and on the PDF.

Share a link

  1. Choose who can see it

    In the Sharing box, change Private (only you) to Anyone with the link (shareable, not listed) or Public.

  2. Copy the link

    Press Copy link — it reads Copied! — and send it to your table. It opens a read-only copy of the sheet, and people don't need an account to view it.

Check it worked

Open the link in a private browser window: the sheet shows without the edit controls. Setting it back to Private turns the link off.

Print or download it

  1. Export a PDF

    Press Export PDF at the top of the sheet. It reads Preparing…, then downloads a printable sheet, portrait included. Anyone who can see the sheet can do this.

  2. Download the data

    Press Export data for the character as a JSON file — a full copy of everything on the sheet, for your own records. Only the owner sees this.

Keeping a backup

The JSON file is a backup and a way to take your data elsewhere. The vault can't import it back yet; to bring a character back in, use Import with its text.

Delete it

Delete at the top of the sheet asks Delete this character? This can't be undone. Confirming removes it and frees its slot. Export it first if you might want it back.

If something's off

“That image can't be used. Please choose another.”
Uploads are screened, and this one didn't pass. Choose a different image — a PNG, JPEG, WebP or GIF up to 4 MB.
“Couldn't generate an image — the image service may be busy…”
Try Generate with AI again in a moment.
Someone can't open my link
Check Sharing isn't set to Private, and that you sent the link from Copy link, not the address of the vault page.
