Keep the campaign's Log, Lore and NPCs

Write the session log (with secret GM notes and AI recaps), build the campaign wiki and reveal it to players, add NPCs from your vault, and publish an actual-play write-up.

Game MastersUpdated October 11, 2026

The campaign keeps its own records, so next week starts where this week ended: the Log (what happened), Lore (who and where), and the NPCs the party meets. Players see the Log and whatever Lore you reveal; your secrets stay yours.

Before you start

  • To be the GM (or an admin). Players can add notes and NPCs only if settings allow it.
  • For AI drafts, 1 AI credit each, from the GM's balance.

The Log

  1. Open the Log

Open the Journal tab on the right. (Classic page: Journal.)
  2. Write an entry

Press + Add a note, give it a Title (optional) and write What happened this session?
  3. Keep it secret, or share it

As GM, choose Shared with the party or GM only (secret), then press Post note. Secret entries carry a GM only badge and players never see them.
  4. Or let AI draft it

Under ✨ AI assist, press Draft recap (from the table's chat) or Draft session prep (hooks, NPCs, encounters). Edit the draft, then Save to journal: a recap is shared, prep is saved GM-only. This works for human and AI GMs alike.

Lore β€” the campaign wiki

  1. Add an entry

Open the Lore tab and press + New entry. Pick its type β€” NPC, location, faction, quest, item or lore β€” and fill in the Name, a One-line summary (optional) and Details, lore, secrets… (optional). Leave Revealed to players unticked to keep it hidden. Press Add entry.
  2. Connect entries

On an entry, press + Connect, type the relation (member of), pick the other entry and press Add. Connections show under Connections.
  3. Reveal it

Tick Reveal on an entry when the party finds out. At the table, it also lands in the middle as a handout everyone sees.
  4. Let AI find what's new

Under From your sessions, press Read the chat or Paste a transcript (or choose a .txt / .md file). The AI suggests new NPCs, places and facts; Add to wiki adds one as GM-only, Edit or Dismiss the rest (1 AI credit).

NPCs

  1. Add an NPC

Open the NPCs tab and press NPC. In Add an NPC, choose From your library to bring one from your NPC Vault (only NPCs for this campaign's system are listed), or Create new to make one just for this campaign β€” the same sheet as the vault, with ✨ Generate for this game β€” then Add NPC.
  2. Bring them into play

Seat them at the table from GM screen β†’ Bench when they enter the scene (part 4). Edit and Remove are on each NPC's card.

Check it worked

Players see shared Log entries and revealed Lore; your secret notes and hidden entries show a GM only badge to you alone.

Publish an actual-play write-up

In the Journal tab, Actual play (GM only) publishes a session write-up outside the campaign, readable by anyone with the link. Press Write a recap, add a Title, a Session label (optional) and the Write-up, set the Content rating (All ages, Teen or Mature β€” Mature write-ups are hidden from minors), tick AI-assisted if it was, and press Publish or Save draft. View public page β†— opens it; Unpublish takes it down.

Your NPC library goes with you

An NPC you create inside a campaign belongs to that campaign. Build recurring characters in the NPC Vault instead, and bring them to any campaign from your library.

If something's off

β€œOnly campaign admins can add notes here.”
The GM can turn on Players can add notes in settings.
β€œYour NPC library is empty.”
Your vault has no NPCs for this campaign's system. Build NPCs in the Realms β†’ opens the NPC Vault, or use Create new.
β€œThere's no chat yet to recap.”
A recap is drafted from the table's chat; play a little first, or write the entry by hand.
β€œNothing new to record from this session.”
The AI found nothing the wiki doesn't already have.
