Con day and after: plan the con, wear-test, pack and repair

Use a con's page to choose a build for each day, pack once for the trip, run a checklist, join photoshoots and gatherings; then wear-test the costume, pack it and log repairs.

A con on Waypoint Realms has its own page in the Cosplay Realm, where you plan the trip itself. Under each build, three lists cover the costume's side: the wear test, the packing and repairs.

Before you start

  • A build linked to a con event (see part 1).

Plan the con

  1. Open the con's page

On the build, press Who else is going β†’.
  2. Choose a build for each day

Under your days, pick a build for each day of the con, or leave it at Not decided.
  3. Pack once

packing for the con merges every chosen build's packing list into one, with the days each item is for; something needed on two days appears once. A tick here ticks the build's own list. A build without a list offers Save …'s list so you can tick it.
  4. Run the checklist

con checklist covers the rest β€” badge, confirmations, charger, water, cash.

Further down, Who's bringing what shows the public builds linked to the con, by series, and Who's going the members who said so.

Photoshoots and gatherings

  1. Bring a build to a shoot

Under photoshoots, pick your build in Bring a build…. A photoshoot is a cosplay session, planned on the session form and added here with Add one of your sessions…; its organizer invites the photographer with Invite photographer.
  2. Credit the photographer afterwards

After the shoot, press Credit … on … β€” one press credits them on your build, and they accept it like any credit.
  3. Add or join a gathering

Under gatherings: Fandom, What, When and Where (optional), then Add the gathering. On any gathering, I'm going puts it on your calendar and reads Going βœ“.

Gatherings lists every gathering at the cons you're going to, filterable by fandom.

Wear-test the costume

The lists below appear on a build once it's In progress, Finished or On hold. They're yours alone.

  1. Start the list

Under wear test, press Start from the usual tests, or add your own with + Add a test.
  2. Test and note

Wear it. Tick each test, and press ✎ to note what happened β€” pinches at the shoulder β€” then Save note.

Pack it

  1. Fill from the pieces

Under packing, press Fill from the pieces. It lists every piece, what each kind needs besides (a wig cap and brush, a lens case), and a repair kit.
  2. Top it up

Added pieces since? Add what's missing from the pieces adds only the new things. + Add something to pack adds anything else.

Log a repair

  1. Say what broke

Under repairs, press Log a repair and fill in What broke.
  2. Add the rest now or later

The fix, Which piece, Cost, $ and When are optional. Press Log repair; ✎ on the repair adds them later.

Check it worked

The tape reads repairs Β· … Β· $… β€” the running cost of repairs, apart from what the pieces cost. A repair without a fix shows Not fixed yet.

If something's off

There's no Who else is going β†’ on my build
It appears only when the build is linked to a con event. Link one under Edit details.
packing for the con is missing
It appears once at least one day has a build chosen under your days.
β€œThis event was cancelled.”
The Circle cancelled the event. Unlink the build or pick another con.
I removed a checklist item by mistake
βœ• on these lists doesn't ask first. Add the item again.
