Table Oracle: what should we play tonight?

Tick who turned up, say how long you have, and get a ranked shortlist drawn from the shelves of everyone at the table — with the reason for each pick.

Everyone is here, the snacks are out, and forty minutes later nobody has chosen a game. Table Oracle is the fix: it ranks what you could actually play tonight from the shelves of the people actually in the room.

Who turned up, and how long you have. Everything else follows from those two answers.

How it works

  1. Tick who's at the table

    Your connections appear as checkboxes; you are always counted. Anyone you tick brings their shelf into the pool.

  2. Add the people without accounts

    Guests who are not on Waypoint own no shelves here, but they still take up chairs — so count them, and the oracle keeps the player count honest.

  3. Say how long you've got

    Thirty minutes and “all evening” are different questions. The shortlist respects the answer rather than suggesting a four-hour epic on a school night.

  4. Read the reasons

    Each pick comes with why — the player count fits, the length fits, someone at the table already knows it. A recommendation you can argue with is more useful than a verdict.

Only games somebody in the room owns

The oracle never suggests a game nobody at the table owns, because you cannot play it tonight. If the shortlist looks thin, the fix is usually that people's shelves are not filled in yet.

Save a table you use often

Save this table as a group keeps the same set of people for next time, so your regular Thursday night is two clicks instead of eight.

Nobody knows how to play it

If the winning pick is one nobody has taught before, the Academy has learn-to-play guides for games in the catalogue — enough to get a first game running without reading the rulebook cover to cover.
