The Design Shop: sharing & selling Piece Forge designs

Browse designs other cosplayers modelled, copy one into your own library, and refit it to your measurements. Free designs cost nothing; priced ones pay their maker.

Not everyone wants to model a helmet from scratch. The Design Shop is where cosplayers publish the pieces they modelled in Piece Forge, so you can start from somebody else's shape and make it yours.

The Design Shop browsing published designs β€” a segmented chestplate, a lantern prop and a helmet blockout β€” each with its piece kind, its maker, a description and either a Get button for free designs or a Buy button with a price.
Designs by other members, filtered by piece kind. Free ones say Get; priced ones say Buy.

Getting a design

  1. Browse by piece kind

Helmet, torso, gauntlet, greaves or prop. Each card names its maker and says what the design is for β€” including the honest caveats, like which measurement it scales from.
  2. Get or buy it

Free designs cost nothing. Priced ones pay their maker. Either way, getting one copies it into your library β€” it becomes yours to open and change.
  3. Refit it to you

Reopen the copy in the modeller, fit it to your own measurements, and unfold it to foam. A design bought at somebody else's size does not stay at their size.

You get a copy, not a link

The design lands in your library as your own copy. If the maker later changes or retires their listing, what you already have is unaffected.

Publishing your own

Anything you model in Piece Forge can be listed. My listings is what you have published; Purchases is what you have taken from other people. Write the description you would have wanted before you printed it β€” what it fits, what it assumes, and where it will fight you.

Say what it scales from

The most useful line on a listing is which measurement drives the fit β€” a gauntlet that scales from the forearm and a gauntlet that scales from the wrist behave very differently on the same arm.

Not the same as the Marketplace

The Design Shop trades designs β€” digital pieces that open in the Workshop. For selling physical things to other members, see selling your own things.
