The Compendium: rules lookup at the table

Spells, magic items, conditions and feats from the D&D 5e SRD, searchable and filterable, so a mid-session rules question does not cost five minutes.

EveryoneUpdated August 28, 2026

The Compendium is a rules lookup you can use without leaving the table: spells, magic items, conditions and feats from the D&D 5e SRD, in one searchable place.

The Compendium on its Spells tab, showing 319 spells with a search box and filters for school and level, and cantrip cards listing each spell's school, components and casting time.
Four tabs, one search box. Filter spells by school and level to find the one you half-remember.

What is in it

  • Spells β€” searchable, and filterable by school and by level. Each card shows school, components and casting time before you open it.
  • Magic items β€” what it does and what it takes to use it.
  • Conditions β€” the one you actually look up mid-fight, because nobody remembers exactly what restrained does.
  • Feats β€” for levelling up between sessions.

SRD content only

The Compendium carries the System Reference Document β€” the portion of D&D 5e published for open use. Material from books outside the SRD is not here, and a search that comes back empty usually means the thing you are looking for is not SRD content rather than that the search failed.

Faster than a search engine mid-session

Filter first, then read. β€œEvocation, level 3” is a much shorter list than β€œfireball-ish spells”, and it works when the table's wifi does not love you.

Related lookups

Creature stat blocks live in the bestiary rather than here, and the tools for building a fight out of them are in NPCs, encounters & loot.
