Kit

Kit is everything a player brings to a larp to play their character: costume, armour, weapons, props and the gear they need on site.

Your kit is the physical side of your character: clothes, armour, weapons, pouches and props. Kit is the usual word in the UK; in North America you may hear garb for clothing and gear or props for the rest. Building kit slowly is normal, and many players start with simple clothes and a borrowed weapon. Weapons, armour and anything else used in combat must be checked under your game's own rules before you use them, and some games also set standards for how costume should look. The organisers' rules and safety brief are the authority on what is allowed.
