Artist Bill of Rights

These rights cover the work you upload to Waypoint Realms as your own: comic art, anime art, TTRPG character art, and cosplay plans and art. They don’t cover the small set of images Waypoint Realms generates with AI as placeholders where a member has no art of their own, such as a non-player character’s portrait. Those images are always labelled as AI-generated, and we never sell or license them.
1. We do not train on your work
No model of ours is trained, fine-tuned, or otherwise fitted on anything you upload — art, writing, photos, patterns, characters, or builds. There is no opt-out because there is no opt-in.
2. We do not license your work to anyone who would
Your work is not sold, licensed, or made available to third parties for training. The providers that run our text, chat, screening and speech features are contractually barred from training on what we send them. Our image generator receives only a written prompt, never your uploads, and its terms let it use de-identified, aggregated usage data to improve its own service. The Privacy Policy names each provider.
3. You own what you make
We take the narrow license required to display your work where you chose to put it, and nothing more. No perpetual grant, no sublicensing, no commercial use of your work by us without a separate agreement and payment.
4. Your style is not a prompt
We will never ship a feature that generates work “in the style of” a named member, and we will remove any listing or post that markets itself that way.
5. Your likeness is yours
Cosplay photographs and images of you are governed by your consent, not by our terms. You can revoke, and revocation propagates: report a photo or image that shows you with “This is me, and I want it taken down”, and it comes down at once everywhere it appears on Waypoint Realms while a person reviews it within 72 hours. If you agreed to be credited on someone’s cosplay build, you can withdraw that credit at any time, and your name comes off every link to it.
6. We pay people for the art we commission
When Waypoint Realms commissions art, it is made by a person, paid for at a fair rate and credited. Realm crests and banners are generated with AI, and each is labelled as AI-generated.
7. Takedown is fast and human
Reported infringement of your work gets a human decision within 72 hours, and the disputed work is held from public surfaces while it is reviewed. You do not need a lawyer to file. Report it from the work itself with “Uses my work without permission”, saying where your original is, or send a notice to our designated copyright agent at patrick@waypointrealms.com (US Copyright Office registration DMCA-1084574).
8. Attribution travels
Your name and link stay attached to your work across shares, embeds, and exports. Stripping attribution is a violation.
9. No machine decides your placement
Contests and judged events are decided by human judges. AI is not used for scoring, ranking, or shortlisting where a human’s standing is at stake.
10. You can leave with everything
Full export of your work, your data, and your history, at any time, in open formats, without contacting support. The download is JSON and CSV, with a list of every file you’ve uploaded and a link to each one, or a note on where to get it. It’s under Download your data on your account page.
11. If we change this, you get 90 days
Any material weakening of these rights is announced 90 days in advance, in your inbox, not in a changelog. Work posted under the old terms stays under the old terms.
