Betsy Braddock is a British telepath and twin sister of the original Captain Britain, who worked as a pilot, model and psychic agent before briefly taking on her brother's mantle. After the villain Slaymaster blinded her, Mojo and Spiral gave her new cybernetic eyes, and she joined the X-Men as Psylocke. A notorious body swap with the Japanese assassin Kwannon reshaped her look and fighting style for years before the two were finally separated. During the Krakoa era she returned to her own body and claimed the Captain Britain mantle, leading Excalibur.

- Telepathy: reads minds, casts illusions and controls others' thoughts
- Psychic knife: forms a focused blade of psionic energy that can stun or kill
- Telekinesis: uses force fields, flight and telekinetic blades and weapons
- Astral projection: travels and fights on the astral plane
- Ninja training: master martial artist trained by the Hand and other skilled fighters
- Captain Britain powers: the mantle grants flight, great strength and durability
- Starlight Sword: a mystical blade linked to her role as Captain Britain
