Phoenix

Jean Elaine Grey-Summers

  • Phoenix
  • Public

Jean Grey was one of Charles Xavier's original five students, joining the X-Men as the telekinetic Marvel Girl after her telepathy surfaced in childhood trauma. Her life was transformed when she bonded with the cosmic Phoenix Force, leading to the legendary Dark Phoenix Saga, her apparent death and a series of resurrections. She married Scott Summers, helped found X-Factor and later led the X-Men and X-Force during the Krakoa era. Embracing her role as the Phoenix, she now protects mutants and the wider universe with cosmic power.

Powers and abilities

  • Resurrection: has returned from death many times through the Phoenix Force
  • Molecular manipulation: can rearrange matter at the molecular level
  • Astral projection: travels and fights on the astral plane
  • Combat and piloting: trained by the X-Men in hand-to-hand fighting and flying the Blackbird
