Arkady Rossovich was a violent Russian killer who joined the Soviet Spetsnaz and went on murdering until his own government stepped in. Instead of simply executing him, the Soviets made him a super-soldier, bonding carbonadium tentacles to his arms and naming him Omega Red. His mutation turned out to be lethal, forcing him to drain life from others to survive, and he spent long stretches in suspended animation. Revived, he became a bitter enemy of Wolverine and the X-Men, serving many masters before dying again at Wolverine's hands.

- Carbonadium tentacles: retractable coils in his arms used as whips and grapples

- Military training: a trained Spetsnaz soldier skilled in combat and tactics
