Forge is a Cheyenne mutant with an intuitive genius for invention who trained as a shaman under Naze before serving in the Vietnam-era Siancong War, where he lost his leg and hand and used dark magic that unleashed the demonic Adversary. His Neutralizer device was used to strip Storm of her powers, which led to a complicated romance with her. He later led the government-sponsored X-Factor, built critical technology for the mutant nation of Krakoa, and served with X-Force.
