Module (mod)

A module, or mod, is a short planned encounter that the game's staff run for a small group of players during a larp event.

A module takes a group away from the main game for a focused piece of story: a fight, a dungeon, a negotiation, a puzzle or a ritual. Staff set it up in advance, play its non-player characters and run it from start to finish. The term is most common in North American campaign games; UK games often call similar encounters quests or linears. Some events post mods on a sign-up board; others send someone to fetch your character when the time comes. Telling staff what kinds of stories you enjoy helps them match you to ones you will like.
