Hit points and locational hits

Hit points and locational hits are two common ways larp games track how much damage a character can take before they go down.

Hit points (HP) are a single pool of damage your character can take; each hit lowers it, and at zero you fall according to the game's rules. Locational hits give each part of the body, such as an arm, a leg or the torso, its own count, so a badly hit limb can stop working while you stay on your feet. Many games mix the two. Rules vary a lot between games, including which parts of the body you are allowed to hit at all, so check your game's rulebook and listen to its safety brief before you fight.
