Plan a LARP character and costume
Create a character in the Character & Costume Planner — concept, faction, rules system, chapter, record link — and plan the costume, makeup and props, then edit or delete it.

- Part 1 of 2
A LARP character is a sheet, a costume and a pile of props. The Character & Costume Planner keeps them together — and it's private to you.
Before you start
- A Waypoint account, signed in.
- A name and a concept. Everything else can come later.
Create the character
Open the planner
In the LARP Realm's rail, under Prep, choose Character & Costume Planner, and press + New character.Who they are
Enter the Character name and, if your game uses one, the Level. In Concept, write who they are — background, personality, goals. A line you could say at the gate is more useful than three paragraphs.Where they play
Fill in Faction / group, Rules system / org (for example Amtgard, NERO, Dagorhir) and Chapter / kingdom. If your org keeps an online record of you, paste its full address in Record link (ORK / NERO).What they look like
Plan the Costume plan (garments, colours, sourcing, what's left to make), Makeup / prosthetics and Props & weapons, and anything else in Notes.Create it
Press Create.
Check it worked
Edit or delete
Pick the character in the list and press Edit; change anything and press Save (there's no autosave). Delete removes the character and all its progression, after a confirmation — it can't be undone.
Faction / group here is your own note. To join a faction's roster, use Group & Faction Roster; if the names match exactly, the Realm's home page shows your faction rank on your character's badge. Building the props? See Prop & weapon crafting.
Next: track XP, skills and awards, and print the card.
If something's off
- “The record link must be a full web address, starting with https://.”
- Paste the whole address from your browser's address bar.
- “Level is a whole number from 0 to 1000.”
- Use a whole number, or leave Level empty.
- It says Slot 2 of 2
- The count under your list isn't a limit on planner characters yet — you can still add more.
- I switched characters and lost my changes
- Changes are kept only when you press Save or Create. Finish one character before opening another.
