A faction is your unit in the story — a warband, an order, a mercenary company — with a roster that lasts between events.
Before you start
- A Waypoint account, signed in.

Run the roster (leader and officers)
Approve recruits
Open the Recruits tab and press Approve or Decline on each request. You aren't notified of new ones, so look in now and then.Make officers
On the Roster tab, press Promote beside a member to make them an officer, or Demote. Remove takes someone off the roster.Record your character
Press Edit my character, enter your In-character name — and, as an officer or the leader, your Rank / role — and press Save.

Members record their own in-character name; a rank is set by officers and the leader, for themselves. There isn't yet a way to set another member's rank.
Leave or disband
Leave faction on the Roster tab takes you off it, after a confirmation; to come back, you'll need to ask again. The leader can't leave or hand over the faction — only Disband faction, which removes it and its roster for everyone.
Next: call your faction to muster for a session.
If something's off
- “No public factions yet — start one.”
- Nobody has made a public faction yet. Press + New faction.
- “An officer approves these.”
- You're a member but not an officer; ask the leader to promote you.
- “You don't have permission to do that.”
- Only officers and the leader can approve, promote, remove or set ranks.
- I can't find a faction a friend told me about
- It may be private — private factions don't show in Browse and can't be joined.
