Delete your account

How to delete your account

In the app or on the web, open Profile → Account and choose Delete account. You will be asked to confirm. Nothing is queued for later — the deletion runs as you confirm it.

If you cannot sign in, email privacy@waypointrealms.com from the address on the account and ask for deletion. We will verify that you control the address before acting, because a deletion request we cannot attribute is an attack on whoever the account belongs to.

What is deleted

• Your profile, username, birthdate, address and account settings.
• Your messages, posts, comments, reactions and follows.
• Your RSVPs, characters, collections, shelves and saved searches.
• Your notification preferences, registered devices and push tokens.
• Your analytics history is anonymised — the events survive, you do not.

What is kept, and why

A few things outlive the account because destroying them would take away other people’s data rather than yours:

• Guilds, venues and store listings you owned become ownerless rather than being deleted, so their members and customers keep what they had.
• Records we are required to keep — transaction and tax records for completed purchases, and moderation records where an account was actioned — are retained for as long as the law requires, and are not linked back to a profile that no longer exists.
• Content other people quoted or replied to may remain visible in their conversations, attributed to a deleted account.

If you pay for Waypoint Pro

Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription you bought through the App Store or Google Play. Those are managed by the store, not by us — cancel it in your Apple or Google account settings first, or you will keep being charged for a subscription attached to an account that no longer exists.

A subscription bought on the web is cancelled automatically when the account is deleted.

Take your data with you first

You can export everything we hold about you from your account settings before you delete. Once the account is gone the export is no longer available, so do it first if you want it.
