Know a field your group uses? Add it, and the next organiser finds it with the practical detail already written down.

Before you start

  • A Waypoint account, signed in.
  • The place's name, and its address or a nearby intersection.

Find the place

  1. Start

On Outdoor & Public Spaces, press + Add a space.
  2. Search for it

In Find a park or outdoor place (for example Lincoln Park, Chicago), type at least two letters and press Search. Pick the right place from the list — its name fills in.
  3. Or type the address

Not found? Press Enter the address myself and fill in Address — a street address or nearby intersection — with City (optional) and State (optional) as a two-letter code.

Describe it

  1. Name and type

Check the Name, and choose a Category: Park, Open field, Campground, Trail / woods, Beach, Event space or Other.
  2. Rentable?

Tick Rentable / requires permit if it has to be booked, and add a Booking contact (optional) — a web address, email or phone number.
  3. What should people know

In Notes (optional), write what you'd want to know before turning up: parking, restrooms, boffer-safe terrain, permit rules.
  4. Add it

    Press Add space.

Check it worked

The form closes and says Added “…” — open it. The space is in the list (unless your filters hide it) with a Rentable badge if you ticked the box. A booking contact that's a web address or email is a link on the space's page.

Now host a session there.

If something's off

“No places found. Plenty of parks and fields aren't in the map's index — add it by hand.”
Press Enter the address myself. Place search covers the United States only.
“Place search is unavailable right now…”
Use Enter the address myself instead.
“Couldn't find that address. Try a more specific one…”
Add a street number, or use a nearby intersection, and include the city.
“Check the space details.”
Usually the state: it must be a two-letter code, such as IL.
I made a mistake in a space I added
You can't edit it yourself. Contact support with the space's name and the fix.
