Read on a plane, and decide which comics you meet at all.

Before you start

  • A Waypoint account, signed in, in a browser that can keep downloads, or in the Android app.

Download an issue

  1. Open the title's page

Find the title (see part 1) and open its issue picker.
  2. Download one issue

Choose the List view, then press Download at the end of an issue's row. It becomes Remove download when the issue is saved, and a SAVED! burst shows.
  3. Or download several

Press Select, press the issues you want, then Download in the bar at the bottom. They save one after another.
  4. Find them

In the Bindery header, choose Library, then the Downloads tab.

Check it worked

The Downloads tab reads … downloads · … MB on this device, with a table of Title, Issue / chapter, Pages and Size, and Read and Remove on each row. Back in the picker, its header counts them (· 2 offline) and the Downloaded filter shows only those.

Read with no connection

  1. Open the offline reader

On the Downloads tab, press Open the offline reader. It's the Downloaded comics page, which opens with no connection once you've downloaded something; bookmark it while you're online.
  2. Read

Press Read on an issue (Continue if you've started it). Each row shows … pages · … MB · page … · until ….
  3. Check in

With a connection, open Downloaded comics now and then — it checks in on its own, and again whenever your browser comes back online — or press Check in now.

Check it worked

Pages you read offline count toward your place at the next check-in. Read on the Downloads tab opens the issue online, which is why the offline reader is the one to use with no connection.

Download in the Android app

The app keeps its own downloads, on the phone. They stay encrypted, and they open only on that phone.

  1. Open the comic

Open a comic in the app. Every chapter you see there is one you can read.
  2. Download a chapter

Press Download on its row. It counts the pages as they save, and becomes Remove when it's done.
  3. Find it

Your downloads are under On this phone on the Comics page, with how many days each one still opens for.

Check it worked

With no connection the Comics page says You're offline. What's on this phone still opens. The app checks your downloads in when you open Comics with a connection.

Choose what you see

  1. Open your comics settings

In your profile's settings, choose Comics content.
  2. Set your maximum rating

Maximum content rating: All ages, Teen (13+), Teen+ (16+) or Mature (18+).
  3. Hide warnings

Under Hide titles with these warnings, tick any you'd rather not meet — violence, horror, flashing or strobing imagery, and the rest — whatever the rating.
  4. Blur covers

Keep Blur covers above my maximum on, so a hidden title's cover stays blurred in a search or a shared link. Press Save settings.

Check it worked

Hidden titles leave the shelves. Open one anyway and it says Hidden by your content settings, with Show it anyway. On Browse, Include titles hidden by my content settings brings them back into the grid, and the preview panel shows the same note instead of a synopsis.

History and devices

On the same page, See your reading history lists every chapter you've opened, with Resume, Read again and Remove; Clear reading history forgets your place in all of them. Reading sessions and devices and Downloads list where you're reading, with Sign out for any of them. See also the reader.

If something's off

A download won't save
Each account keeps downloads on up to 5 devices, and each one holds up to 100. Remove a download you no longer need, or sign a device out under Downloads in your comics settings on the website, then try again.
“Needs a connection to check in before it opens again.”
Go online and open Downloaded comics, or press Check in now. The download opens again once it has checked in. In the Android app, connect and open Comics.
A download disappeared
It reached its 30 days, the chapter changed, your access to it ended, or this device was signed out. The Android app also removes a download if its comic is rated Mature later.
“This phone's clock looks wrong…”
Set the phone to the right time, then try the download again.
There's no Download button
On the website, Download is in the List view, for signed-in members, on issues that have pages — and it needs a browser that can keep downloads, so try another if it never shows. Audio comics can't be downloaded.
“This browser can't keep comics to read offline.”
Downloads need a browser with private storage, encryption and image decoding built in. Try another.
