Cancel your plan — monthly, annual and trial

What happens when you cancel Plus, Pro or a Hub plan: a monthly plan runs to the end of the month, an annual plan to the end of your current month with the rest refunded.

On this page

Plus, Pro and Hub plans renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time, and what happens depends on whether you pay monthly or yearly.

How to cancel

On the web, open Profile → Account and press Cancel plan under Membership. Hub partners use Cancel plan on Hub billing. Before anything changes, a dialog tells you the date your plan ends and any refund. Press Cancel my plan to confirm, or Keep my plan to leave it as it is.

Monthly plans

You keep your plan until the end of the month you've paid for, then move to Free. Nothing is refunded. Until that date you can press Keep my plan and it renews as usual.

Annual plans

You keep your plan until the end of your current month, counted from the day your year began, then move to Free. When you cancel, we refund each whole month left in your year after that, at one twelfth of what you paid for the year, to your card straight away. Charges made during the year, such as for a change of plan, aren't included.

For example, if your year began on 10 March and you cancel on 25 April, your plan runs to 10 May and the ten months from 10 May are refunded.

Switching between Plus and Pro

Moving up to a higher plan takes effect at once, and the difference for the rest of your billing period is charged on your next invoice. Moving down to a lower plan waits for your next renewal: you keep the plan you've paid for until then, nothing is refunded and nothing is charged now. Choose Switch to on the Plans page.

During your free trial

Your first Plus or Pro membership starts with a 7-day free trial. If you cancel during it, it ends when the trial does and you aren't charged. If the first payment after the trial fails, your account is on Free until it succeeds. A trial is for your first membership only, including one bought in an app.

If a payment is overdue

Cancelling a plan with an unpaid invoice ends it straight away and cancels that invoice, so you aren't charged for it.

If you delete your account

A plan bought on the web is cancelled at once. For an annual plan, the same whole months are refunded. See Your data and your account.

What isn't covered

  • The Bindery Pass and add-ons are managed from Manage billing and follow their own terms.
  • Store purchases follow the policy shown when you bought them.

If a price changes

A new price for a member or Hub plan only ever applies from a renewal. Before that renewal, we email you with a link to cancel: at least 14 days ahead for a monthly plan and 30 days for an annual one. If your annual plan renews within 30 days of the announcement, it renews at the old price once more. Renewing after the notice means you accept the new price.
