The central publisher of American alternative comics, founded by Gary Groth and Michael Catron. Originated as publisher of The Comics Journal, a criticism magazine, before moving into books. Publishes Love and Rockets, the work of Daniel Clowes and Chris Ware, and extensive archival reprints of classic newspaper strips.
